Steam Next Fest is now live with over 1000 PC game demos up for access on the platform. Starting today, the digital event is scheduled to run until February 12 at 10 am PT/1 pm ET/6 pm GMT.
This Next Fest, players can check out demos of Homeworld 3, Pacific Drive, Backpack Battles, Stormgate, and Rotwood—which are among the most wishlisted games on Steam. Besides the demos, Steam Next Fest also has a bunch of developer broadcasts scheduled to run over the course of the event where you can chat with the developer of your favorite upcoming indie games.
Valve’s Next Fest is true to its subtitle– “A Celebration of Upcoming Games.” It provides a great opportunity to check out what the promising indie developers have cooked up, especially at a time when AAA game development is going through a depressing period with mass layoffs and a pivot to live action.
For one, I’m quite hyped about the upcoming Pacific Drive, and its demo is downloading as I write.
