Larian Studios founder Swen Vincke made it clear that the immensely successful Baldur’s Gate 3 is unlikely to come to the Xbox subscription service.

In a discussion with IGN, Vincke mentioned that “Oh, we always said from the get-go, it wasn’t going to be on Game Pass, it’s not going to be on Game Pass,” He further went on to mention that “We made a big game, so I think there’s a fair price to be paid for that, and I think that that is okay. We don’t charge you any micro-transactions on top of it, so you get what you pay for. Upfront it’s a big meaty game. So I think that should be able to exist as it is. This is what allows us to continue making other games.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 arrived on Xbox earlier this December, as compared to the Playstation and PC releases in September and August respectively. The game has gone on to win multiple awards including the coveted Game Of The Year award at The Game Awards held recently. It has been praised rightly for bringing an intricately designed world with a dizzying level of freedom and role-playing possibilities
