Lies Of P has several NPCs that have their own questline, with rewards that include collectibles like gramophone records and gestures and in some cases, a trophy/achievement as well. One such NPC is Venigni and the corresponding trophy is the Story Of the Prince.
This is a missable trophy if you pass a certain stage without the required interactions completed before that stage. In that case, you will need to collect the trophy on NG+ or another new run. Hence, it is important to follow the steps below that are required to complete Venigni’s Story in Lies Of P.
Venigni’s Story in Lies of P & The Story Of the Prince Achievement: Step-by-Step Guide
- Venigni will be found just next to the stargazer in the Venigni Works Control Room. Speak to him and run through all his dialogs.
- Defeat the King’s Flame, Fuoco boss and travel back to Hotel Krat.
- Venigni will now be at the Hotel and have his place set up right opposite Eugenie. Speak to him and run through all his dialogs.
- Continue on the story and ensure that anytime you are at Hotel Krat, you speak and exhaust all his dialogs. An indication of Venigni having new dialog options is when you see his face next to the Hotel Krat stargazer in the fast travel options.
- The next important part of Venigni’s Story in Lies Of P comes once you progress through the game and reach Lorenzini Arcade.
- Locate and read the book “Scandal! V, the Tragedy Behind the Flamboyance” in the bathroom next to the Wandering Merchant.
- Solve all the riddles of Arlecchino and obtain the Trinity Key to the final Trinity Room. You can refer to this guide for all the locations and the riddle answers.
- Unlock the last Trinity Sanctum in the Arche Abbey Outer Wall area to find Arlecchino chained to the wall.
- Speak to him and exhaust all his dialog options.
- Read the Scandal! book once again and speak to Arlecchino.
- Run through all his dialogs, and you will obtain a Moon World Warrior Toy.
- Give the toy back to Venigni and run through all his dialogs and you will unlock the Story of the Prince trophy.
Note: These steps need to be completed before you defeat the final boss of the area, Simon Manus.
Venigni’s Story in Lies of P, Explained
Venigni is one of the good guys in Lies Of P. Having found the Venigni Works Factory and being disturbed by the puppet frenzy that started there, he rushed to the factory to try and stop the situation from getting out of control. However, he was unable to do so and became scared of what the puppets had turned into, which is the state that you find him in your first interaction.
Once back in the safety of Hotel Krat, he gets to work and helps P through various Legion Arm upgrades and also decodes Cryptic Vessels. He works on understanding the cause of the puppet frenzy and also how the puppets communicate with each other using Ergo Waves. After this, he promptly devises an Ergo Wave Decoder and whether you use it to tell the truth or lie forms a critical part of the story and the multiple endings in Lies Of P.
The driving force behind Venigni is his intent to never allow a puppet to become ‘awakened’ since one of those caused the death of his parents when he was young after which he was taken care of by the butler Pulcinella. (That indeed reminds us of a certain other origin story as well!)
