Should You Accept the Red Fox’s Offer in Malum District in Lies of P?
Yes, you should accept the Red Fox’s offer to help in Malum District as there are no downsides to it. This makes you progress their questline further, and you get a couple of hands to help you clear out enemies for a specific stretch in that area.
There are other interactions further down the line where you can take a call on how to close this quest – as allies or fight them as bosses. When you meet them in Malum District, they will express surprise at you having survived so far, and while assisting you, they will keep talking about you in a disparaging tone. After a while, they will disappear from that area, and you will come across them again as you exit the Grand Exhibition area after defeating Champion Victor.
Should You Give the Gold Coin Fruit to the Red Fox at the Grand Exhibition Area?
Yes, you should give the Gold Coin Fruit to the Red Fox at the Grand Exhibition area near the monorail after defeating Champion Victor. This will grant you a Quixotic gramophone record and the Beg gesture, both of which are required to unlock trophies for collecting all records and collecting all gestures.
In case you don’t have a Gold Coin Fruit with you, you can go to the Gold Coin Tree at Hotel Krat to get one and fast travel back.
Black Cat and Red Fox at the Arche Abbey Outer Wall
If you have interacted in the above two ways with the Black Cat and the Red Fox, you will have your next interaction with them at the Arche Abbey Outer Wall.
- You will come across the Black Cat first and he will ask you for a Gold Coin Fruit. In case you did not select the above two choices, you would directly be in a boss fight with the Black Cat here.
- If you give it, the boss fight can be avoided while still getting the Black Cat Mask.
- After this, you will come across the Red Fox.
- If you avoid the boss fight with the Black Cat, she will ask you for a Gold Coin Fruit for the last time and if you give it, you will get the Red Fox mask as well.
