Coming from Artisan Studio, Lost Hellden is a hand-painted JRPG slated for release in 2025 on PC and consoles. The studio comprises several JRPG veterans who have worked on the likes of Final Fantasy and Valkyria Chronicles.

Besides the beautiful hand-painted aesthetic, Lost Hellden’s announcement trailer also gives us a glimpse of the high-quality background music and soundtracks the game will feature. The game’s audio direction is being helmed by Hitoshi Sakimoto of Final Fantasy 12, Valkyria Chronicles, and Tactics Ogre fame. On the other hand, Takeshi Oga who has previously worked on Final Fantasy 14 and Gravity Rush is taking care of illustrations.

From the looks of it, Lost Hellden will be a godsend for anyone who used to be a fan of PS1 JRPGs with its painting-like pre-rendered backgrounds and turn-based combat. The developers describe the art style as “Deep 2D” and as for the gameplay part, they are promising a “strategic action battle system” to pair with a rich story, nuanced characters, and plenty of character customization.

You can head over to Lost Hellden’s official website to sign up for an upcoming demo. Lost Hellden is scheduled to come out in 2025 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store.
