Alan Wake 2, Remedy’s 2023 survival horror hit, has two DLCs slated for release. However, up until this point, the only thing known about them were their names– Night Springs and Lake House. Now, in an interview with Exputer, Remedy Entertainment’s Creative Director Sam Lake has mentioned that the Lake House DLC for Alan Wake 2 will hold hints for the upcoming Control sequel.

The past several games from Remedy have all held references to each other. What started with Alan Wake easter eggs (unofficial, due to IP ownership concerns) in Quantum Break was formally recognized in Control expansion AWE and that spawned the Remedy Connected Universe. This seems to be expanding with the upcoming Alan Wake 2 DLCs.

“The Lake House will have a big focus on the Federal Bureau of Control and its research facility at Cauldron Lake,” Sam Lake said, “Beyond that, no matter how much, there will be hints about things to come in the Control sequel, you’ll have to wait and see.”

As far as official information is concerned, both Alan Wake 2 DLCs are scheduled to be released this year. Control 2, on the other hand, was in the proof-of-concept stage in October last year, according to Remedy’s earning report.

As for other games in the making at Remedy, we know about Max Payne 1 and 2 Remake being in the production stage currently. Condor, the Control co-op spinoff, is currently at the ‘production-readiness’ stage, according to the same financial report; while Codename Vanguard, the free-to-play co-op PvE shooter, is supposed to be out of the proof-of-concept stage following the end of last year.
