Limgrave is the first area for players to explore in Elden Ring – and is full of hidden secrets to discover. Players have been known to easily spend upwards of 15-20 hours – what would probably constitute an entire game elsewhere – in this area. . A lot of the early weapons in Limgrave are also good enough to serve players right through the entire game in fact. In this article, we will look at all the weapons that can be found in Limgrave.

Bloodhound’s Fang
Easily one of the best weapons in the game – it is found early, has bleed buildup, has a killer weapon art, stat requirements can be met easily and is upgraded using Somber Smithing Stones – which are much easier to find – this weapon will easily carry you through the entire game.

- Defeat the boss to obtain the Bloodhound’s Fang
Brick Hammer
The weapon when fully upgraded reaches the coveted S scaling on Strength, and also starts with an impressive B scaling . This can be two-handed with a Strength requirement of 21 – and is thus easily usable from early game.
Type | Great Hammer |
Weight | 12.5 |
Scaling | Strength B |
Requirements | Strength 31 |
Weapon Art | Barbaric Roar |
Brick Hammer Location
The Brick Hammer is located in the Stormveil Castle. After you have acquired the Rusty Key and unlocked the door, take the ladder, go right, and jump across the floor to reach the outside area, where you will find the weapon on a dead body hanging over the ledge
Dragon Communion Seal
All points that hold true for the Bloodhound’s Fang also hold true for the Dragon Communion Seal; and is particularly useful for Dragon Incantations – it buffs them up by 15% – making it the best one for Faith + Arcane builds to use these incantations to destroy enemies from a distance.

Weight | – |
Scaling | Faith D, Arcane C |
Requirements | Faith 10, Arcane 10 |
Dragon Communion Seal Location
Go to Fringefolk Hero’s Grave – next to the Stranded Graveyard Site of Grace. You will need 2 Stonesword keys to gain access. Progress through the cave till you reach an area with a Banished Knight – defeat him to get your hands on the Dragon Communion Seal.
Erdtree Greatbow
The Erdtree Greatbow, while has steep stats that are spread across three attributes – is a great ranged option to have. Although getting it is a bit of a pain; the effort is worth it, especially for quality builds. It is also easier to upgrade with Somber Smithing Stones.

Weight | 11 |
Scaling | Strength E, Dexterity E, Faith D |
Requirements | Strength 20, Dexterity 20, Faith 14 |

This is located in the Fringefolk Heros Grave near the Stranded Graveyard Site of Grace. Defeat the Chariot by hitting the pots suspended on the ceiling for him to drop the Erdtree Greatbow. To reach to a place to be able to do that – you will need to jump off the edge before the bridge, then jump again till you reach an elevator – take the elevator up to the sniping spot.
Erdsteel Dagger
The Erdsteel Dagger does not have much going for it – you will get your hands on a pretty good dagger early on which is covered in this list and for sure does not justify the (admittedly low) requirements across three different stats. In case you are trying out a dual-wield dagger build early on, this can be your offhand weapon.
Type | Dagger |
Weight | 2.0 |
Scaling | Strength D, Dexterity D, Faith D |
Requirements | Strength 7, Dexterity 12, Faith 14 |
Weapon Art | Quickstep |
Erdsteel Dagger Location

Flail
Not a very remarkable weapon – while it has bleed build up; it does not warrant the high requirement on dexterity – you will easily get much better choices to begin the game with if you are looking for a bleed / dexterity setup early on, and those choices are covered in this list.
Type | Flail |
Weight | 5.0 |
Scaling | Strength D, Dexterity D |
Requirements | Strength 10, Dexterity 18 |
Weapon Art | Spinning Chain |

You can either sneak your way by killing the enemy standing right next to the carriage or clear out the entire area and then loot it all at your leisure. You can also get the Lordsworn’s Greatsword in a similar carriage at the exact same place.
Golden Halberd
Yes it is found in Limgrave – it drops off a boss fight. No, it is not to be done in early game. The boss which drops the weapon, is , in fact an early tutorial by From Soft, trying to teach you “Come back here later”. The weapon itself is a pretty neat one which does split physical and holy damage and is a solid choice to keep poking enemies from afar.
Type | Halberd |
Weight | 13.5 |
Scaling | Strength D, Dexterity E, Faith D |
Requirements | Strength 30, Dexterity 14, Faith 12 |
Weapon Art | Golden Vow |
Golden Halberd Location
Defeat the Tree Sentinel patrolling the area just outside The First Step Site of Grace.
Greataxe
The Greataxe is a good strength weapon – while the stat requirements are steep, two-handing the Greataxe will make it viable at a Strength of 20 (dual-wielding a weapon makes the Strength stat count as 1.5 times the actual stat). However; before you start upgrading this, you may want to hold off for the Greatsword – which can also be found pretty quickly in an area adjacent to Limgrave.
Type | Greataxe |
Weight | 13.0 |
Scaling | Strength D, Dexterity D |
Requirements | Strength 30, Dexterity 8 |
Weapon Art | Barbaric Roar |

Make your way to the Gatefront Ruins where you will see a carriage being pulled by 2 trolls and surrounded by several enemies. Hit the troll once to stop the carriage and you can loot the Greataxe from the chest at the back of the carriage.
Great Epee
The thrust attacks and their ability to stagger tough enemies and even bosses for a critical hit is the key selling point for the Great Epee – especially if you are able to get in fully charged attacks.

Highland Axe
A decent option for a one-handed weapon + shield combo; the War Cry weapon art boosts the attack power temporarily and is a key point in favour of this axe.

HookClaws
HookClaws have a great bleed build up and scale well with dexterity. They are a great weapon but require you to get right next to the enemy to deliver hits. If fast paced attacks and dodge are your style, this is worth giving a look into.

Large Club
A pure Strength scaling weapon – and that too at a C, this is the perfect weapon to begin your journey towards the utimate Unga Bunga build! And if you are not already sold, here is the description : “A thick, solid lump of wood. Wielding this striking weapon requires no skill. Shamshir
A decent curved sword to dual wield, you will have to wait a while to get your hands on better curved swords and hence if that is the weapon category of your choice, this will form part of your setup early on.

Scaling | Strength D, Dexterity D |
Requirements | Strength 7, Dexterity 13 |

The Cave itself can be reached by starting from the Saintsbridge Site Of Grace, using the spirit spring on the right of the bridge to safely jump down and head north – the cave will be on the left side of the cliff wall.
Twinblade
Super effective weapons for inflicting status buildup on enemies and a great scaling on Dexterity as you upgrade – this weapon can last you through quite a portion of the game till the other really good twinblade options open up by mid game.
