Lies of P has done all the things that a good Soulslike should do, right down to the branching questlines for various NPCs. One of these NPCs that you will come across is Alidoro. He is an especially important NPC since he allows you to exchange Boss Ergo for special weapons and amulets. Hence, at one point in the game, when there is an option to kill Alidoro, one would naturally think twice.
Lies of P: Should You Kill Alidoro?
Yes, you should go ahead and kill Alidoro in Lies of P. The reasoning can boil down to several factors– it helps close another NPC quest-line, it opens up the opportunity to collect gramophone records which are required to unlock a specific trophy/achievement, and since he is an impostor posing as Alidoro, you would be doing the right thing story-wise as well. And don’t worry about losing out on the opportunity to get special weapons or amulets. His position in Hotel Krat will be taken over by someone else with all his inventory intact.
Where to Find Alidoro in Lies of P
Alidoro moves through the following locations as you progress your story in Lies Of P:
- He is first found taking the lift right next to the St. Frangelico Cathedral Library, gazing over from the terrace.
- If you lie to him about a safe location, he will next be found at the Workshop Union Entrance stargazer. Take the stairs on the right, and then the room to the left. Here, even if you lie (Elysion Boulevard) or tell the truth (Hotel Krat), he will make his way to Hotel Krat.
- Next, after defeating Champion Victor, he will move out and be found at the Barren Swamp Entrance stargazer.
- After Hotel Krat is attacked, you will not find him along with the other survivors. The next place you will run across him is after defeating the Black Rabbit Brotherhood for the second time in the Relic of Trismegistus area.
How to Complete the Story of a Stranger Girl in Lies of P
The Story of a Stranger Girl is an achievement you get for finishing Eugenie’s questline in the game and killing Alidoro is an essential step to progress it. Just ensure that you follow the below steps to unlock this trophy/achievement:
- The first key point comes after defeating Champion Victor– Eugenie will ask you to give a glove that she has specially made to Alidoro.
- Speak to Alidoro at the Barren Swamp area, and hand over the glove. Run through all the dialog options, and return to Eugenie. Select the option that says that the glove did not fit him.
- The second key point comes after defeating the Black Rabbit Brotherhood the second time. Once you come across Alidoro, kill him. Take the cryptic vessel which he has dropped, and give it to Venigni to decipher. Read the message, and return to Eugenie.
- Select the option “He Was Eugenie’s Older Brother”. This will unlock The Story Of A Stranger Girl achievement/trophy and also a gramophone record named ‘Proposal, Flower, Wolf Part 1’. If you select the other option, you will not get the achievement/trophy, but you will get a different gramophone record titled ‘Far East Princess’. Both are required to unlock the achievement/trophy for collecting all records, hence you will need to play through the game again, reach this point, and select a different option from what you did in the first playthrough.
