Lies Of P, an action RPG with punishing boss fights, tough enemies, and some great combat and world-building has you play as P, a puppet with the ability to lie and tasked by Geppetto to restore order in a world where puppets have rebelled against their former masters. This Soulslike game comes with different endings, branching NPC questlines, and collectibles, all of which can’t be covered in a single playthrough. Hence, as you approach the end, it is natural to wonder if you need to start a new character from scratch, or if can you continue with the same one in a New Game Plus.

Does Lies of P Have a New Game Plus Option?

Yes, Lies Of P has a New Game Plus, and you can continue with your character through another (much tougher) run through the game. In fact, the game encourages you to do so, especially if you are looking to 100% the game and unlock all trophies and achievements. Some collectibles like Golden Records are only available in an NG+ cycle.

How Does New Game Plus in Lies of P Work?

  • As is easy to imagine, enemies hit a lot harder but also give more Ergo in return. The later bosses like Simon Manus and Laxasia can be especially tough in the NG+ cycle.
  • You get +1 variants of amulets and armor that you obtained in your first run. A new tier of P-Organ (tier 6) also unlocks in NG+.
  • NG+ also makes it easier for you to access key areas in the game right from the beginning– the Saintess Of Mercy Statue to reset attributes and P-Organ abilities, and the Gold Coin Tree for example.
  • The game gives an option to reset P-Organ abilities right as you begin your New Game Plus run at Krat Central Station, and all options to change or upgrade Legion Arm are also available at the train wagon itself.
  • The illegible Puppet Language during boss fights now becomes legible and can be read, adding that much more insight and understanding to the game’s lore in NG+.
  • All gestures, gramophone records, armor, weapons, legion arms, and costumes carry over into NG+.
  • Krat Supply Boxes, Venigni Collections and other items used for the main quest progression will not carry over to NG+.

Important Things to Take Care of Before Moving to NG+ in Lies of P

Immediately after you defeat the final boss in Lies Of P (which can vary depending upon your choices at various points in the game), you will get a prompt if you want to switch over to a New Game Plus cycle. Don’t select that yet! Select the option that lets you continue your current game. The reason is that there are a couple of easy trophies for you to get, plus it is always a good idea to complete any collectibles and side quests that you may have missed and are still accessible.

Also, now would be a great time to read up on the different endings and NPC questlines if you have gone through your first playthrough blind. If you are planning to go into NG+, it always makes a lot of sense to plan your build and the ending you want to target, as well as look to maximize your completion % for the game.
