Honkai Star Rail gave the first glimpse of Firefly in the 1.6 update livestream and since then everyone has been asking who Firefly is and what her back story is. Now, with the 2.0 update and the introduction of Penacony, more information is available about this mysterious character through the Dreamscape where she meets the Trailblazer in a cut scene.
Firefly in Honkai Star Rail
You will be able to meet Firefly briefly in a cut scene when you enter Dreamscape and start the mission “Sleepless Night”. The cut scene starts after you have met Dr. Edward and go towards the plaza area to see what the turbulence is about. You will see two miscreants who are trying to overpower Firefly and are calling her names like “stowaway”.
She then spots you and in the blink of an eye, a fight starts. After the fight is over, the players meet the infamous Gallagher, who is the security for the Bloodhound Family at the Charmony Festival. The officers who are with him try to tell him that Firefly looks like she doesn’t belong here and looks suspicious. The team of officers are out to search for a man with silver hair and Gallagher explains she couldn’t be that. He also calls Firefly an “honoured guest” and not someone who must have entered the Dreamscape illegally,
At this point, there isn’t much that is revealed about her and the story continues ahead.
The actual story that tells you about who she is starts with “Gentleness, the Name of Nocturne” where you follow her to the Golden Hour. You will have to solve a few puzzles here, after which you will be able to go to the rooftop and find the “closest place to the sky”. Firefly then initiates a conversation again and explains why she likes this place so much. The reason, she explains is that is it away from the city life and gives her peace of mind, and finally admits to being a stowaway.
But this is not how Firefly’s story would end. You and the others are pushed into the Memory Zone by fake Sampo and Sparkle, and here you will encounter the boss, Memory Zone Meme “Something Unto Death”. This is where you will also meet Black Swan and she will help you in the battle. Once the battle is over, you will find yourself in the room at The Reverie. From there you decide to head to the Memory Zone with your party and cross to the real Dreamscape.
Here, you encounter the Memory Zone Meme “Something Unto Death” after you have reached The Reverie’s Dreamscape lobby. The boss then flies past you, attacks Firefly, throws her in the air, and stabs her. She falls in your arms and dies. She disappears into a bubble only to never come back in real life. Black Swan and Acheron explain that if you die in the Dreamscape, you have also died in real life.
