Level 4 of Chapter 1 in Rooms and Exits traps you in a neatly stacked Hardware Store. Figuring your escape route out of this level isn’t that difficult but surely tedious. You will need to combine a lot of items and think resourcefully to make progress. The locker code and disk puzzle will demand straightforward logic. However, there are some items concealed away from direct display and need extensive searching.
How to Solve Rooms and Exits Hardware Store Level
- Grab the crowbar from the extreme left corner of the store.
- Just to the immediate right of this spot, you will notice a blue trolley with dismantled pieces of climbing ladder. Click on it and assemble the ladder.
- The ladder will automatically link you to a secret compartment. It’s locked for now.
- Click on the shelf with watercans, and grab the lighter from the pocket of the hoodie.
- Click on the yellow trashcan on the extreme right of the store, you will retrieve something in a crumbled paper. Dismantle it in your inventory to get a hammer and a piece of paper with a hint pattern.
- Explore the drawers of the billing desk and you will find a screwdriver in the central drawer aisle.
- Check the wall adjoining the trash can, there are cracks on top of it. Use your hammer to completely expose the crack. It’s too dark to look inside right now.
- Climb the blue ladder you assembled at the beginning of the level, and use the screwdriver to unscrew the locked compartment. You will retrieve a candle.
- Go to your inventory and combine the lighter with the candle. Use the lit candle to examine the exposed wall. You will find a Jack here.
- Click on the top right of the back wall carrying tools and you will come across a mini puzzle drag and drop puzzle. Drag the piece to the slot that matches its size. Doing so will reveal a digital locker. The code is 578632 (This can be deciphered by looking at the hint pattern you retrieved from the trash bin). You will find a key here.
- Use the key to unlock the first cabinet towards the left of the store. This is not enough, you also need to uproot the wooden bars using the crowbar to open the cabinet.
- Here you will find a disk puzzle with three rods. Each disk is of a different size and stacked on a larger disk. To solve this puzzle, you need to transfer the disks in the same fashion on the third row of the platform.
- On solving this puzzle you will retrieve the handle for your jack.
- Head to your inventory combine the jack with the handle and use it to lift the shutter of the Store. And there you have it, your escape from the Rooms and Exits hardware store level.
