Elden Ring’s upcoming DLC Shadow of the Erdtree is currently being worked upon with no release date to share “at this time,” said FromSoftware’s parent company Kadokawa in their latest earnings report.

While rumors were afloat with various changes spotted on Elden Ring’s SteamDB recently, it seems the DLC is not releasing on the game’s second anniversary on February 25 as fans were hoping for. In the FAQ section of the earnings report, Kadokawa stated,

“We are currently working hard on the development of DLC for Elden Ring, but we have not announced a release date at this time.”

In the future outlook section of the report, they stated, “Various measures are currently in progress for Elden Ring, including the development of major DLC, to maximize LTV (lifetime value).” The fiscal report also brought into the spotlight the “greater than expected” success Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon garnered.

As for more things Elden Ring, gaming giant Tencent is rumored to be crafting an Elden Ring mobile game. They secured the licensing rights from developer FromSoftware in 2022 and assembled a team for prototyping. However, sources describe progress as “slow.”

The twist? Tencent might transform Elden Ring into a free-to-play experience with in-app purchases, mirroring the monetization approach of the popular gacha title Genshin Impact.
