The Rockstar Editor for GTA 5, the in-game tool for recording and editing gameplay footage, will no longer be available on the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game from February 20, 2024, according to Rockstar Games’ official announcement.
The developer has cited this discontinuation as necessary to “support ongoing updates to these games on both platforms.” This could potentially mean Rockstar Editor having to depend on some depreciated code to be functional. And that may have pushed the devs to remove the feature to smoothen up the development of further game updates on those platforms.
The Rockstar Support article announcing the feature removal warned GTA 5 players on PS4 and Xbox One that all existing clips and projects will also be deleted on February 20.
