Ever since being mentioned in a brief section of Dreamscape, Mikhail has summoned the attention of the entire HSR fandom. By combining the elaborate speculations by fans and the subtle clues dropped by HoYoverse, Mikhail’s identity coincides with an existing game character.
The symbolism of clocks and a glimpse of a certain character while the Trailblazer had an episode of reviving their memories. Yes, I am talking about the Reverie Bell Boy, Misha! While this may sound like a small link to conclude Mikhail’s identity, there are far more connections between Misha and Mikhail. Let’s dig deeper into this possibility, shall we?

Mikhail in Honkai Star Rail

As Trailblazer tries to revive their memories, they view a sequence where a female voice repeatedly calls out the name, Mikhail. There is a lot of clock symbolism depicted during this cutscene with a clear glimpse of Misha. It’s almost as if HSR creators want us to link Misha and Mikhail together.
As we look peculiarly at Misha’s Character Story, you will find him being mentioned as Captain. This is rather odd as he is quite young and his current role is just of a bellboy. The story also mentions him carrying a pocket watch which perfectly matches the description of Clockie. Looking at the story further, it is revealed that the Watchmaker is disguising their identity and no one knows the Mogul.
Not to mention, Misha’s ability Wait, you are so beautiful! can literally stop time. Could all this be hinting that Misha has been manipulating time and deceiving us from their truth all along? Or he is simply linked to the Watchmaker’s legacy?
Relation Between Misha and Mikhail
As it is confirmed that Misha has a meticulous association with clocks and time manipulation, it’s only natural to link him to Mikhail. Apart from the official lore, the fact that Misha is a generalized nickname for the name Mikhail in Slavic culture has made the fandom fixate on the possibility even more.
In The Youths Who Chase Dreams chapter of HSR, Trailblazer finds a note in their hotel room:

Watchmaker, Honkai Star Rail
The impossible can also happen in dreams
Find it, and then you shall be granted an audience.
On reaching Gallery of Thoughts, Trailblazer gets the chance to confront Misha and ask him about the note. To this, Misha apologizes for not cleaning the room thoroughly. Misha also seems to be way too clueless about the events of the hotel during this conversation. This raises another question, Is Misha just a clumsy simpleton or does he play dumb on purpose?
In my personal opinion, there has to be a strong connection between Misha and Mikhail as was apparent in Trailblazer’s vision in the Dreamscape. I believe Misha is either a great deceiver or has lost a part of his consciousness himself. For now, we can just make assumptions. We never know what plot twist HoYoverse has reserved for us.
